Our Story
"Jesus, build something beautiful out of our broken lives."
Gospel City Fellowship exists because a small group of families and individuals were drawn together by the Lord in 2024 with a shared dream of seeing a new faithfully Reformed, outward-facing church come into being that would thrive for generations.
But our roots in this corner of the Seacoast began in the 1980's with Pastor Jeremy growing up just outside of Portsmouth, and falling in love with this city and area. In 2009, after his seminary training in Florida, he and his wife Lindsay planted Truth Point Church, the first PCA church in Lindsay's home city of West Palm Beach. During that time, Jeremy sensed a strong burden to return to his roots in New England to do gospel ministry back home.
While serving as the Senior Minister at The First Congregational Church of Hamilton in MA (2020-2023), the Lord was reclarifying Jeremy's gifts as a church planter and giving he and his wife a long-term vision to reach the people of Portsmouth. They began dreaming and praying with others about what it would look like to plant a new gospel-centered church in the city.
On October 21, 2023, the Northern New England Presbytery of the PCA called Jeremy to start a mission church in the Portsmouth area. And in February 2024, Jeremy was officially installed as the Planting Pastor of Gospel City Fellowship.
Over the course of 2024, a series of interest meetings were held in the Portsmouth area and a launch team began to develop. In the summer of 2024, this team began to gather together every week in the McKeen's home for prayer, discipleship training, worship, and a shared meal together.
The Lord kept adding like-minded dreamers to our team, and on March 23, 2025, we held our first Sunday morning service at the Holiday Inn in Portsmouth. After 9 months of services at the Holiday Inn, we grew out of their space and are now meeting at the historic Hawthorn building at 33 Jewell Ct in Portsmouth NH.
Our frequent prayer as a team has been, "Jesus, build something beautiful out of our broken lives."

Gospel City Fellowship is a mission church of the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA). We're in the beginning stages of cultivating a reformed community in the city of Portsmouth, NH that is Gospel-centered, City-positive, and Fellowship-focused.
